Bear's First Flight

Bear was able to get a few hours sleep despite her excitement.
When he could not sleep, he spent his hours looking out the window.

Breakfast --- this is a good thing cuz it means that we are almost there!!

Papette, Tahiti Visit

Bear seemed to really like the local beer - just like Bubbles & Arnie :)Bear at Papette City Hall - if you look carefully.Bear got a bit excited when we were shopping for pearls & started jumping around. In the taxi ride back from Papette, to the hotel, Bear found some friends in the taxi & begged for a picture :-)

Tahiti Tour

Below are shots of Bear at different checkpoints around Tahiti on our day tour around the island.

This last photo of Bear was taken at the Italian restaurant that we ate at frequently outside of the hotel. Bear loved the local beer - Hinano!!

Moorea Visit

This was Bear's first flight in a small DHC-6 Twin Otter plane.
Bear is excitedly watching as we land in Moorea.
Even though it 06:30 - Bear is not tired & he loves our little Peugot. He was also not impressed with Dr. Foole & was disappointed that he did see any whales.
Above Bear is sitting on the ancient Maraes - where ceremonies were held years ago. He loved the view from Belvedere Point. This picture was taken after I was sampled the Pineapple shots & was a bit of a trauma for Bear because I almost forgot him there. Luckily, I had a habit of checking my pocket before getting into the car, after each stop, to check for Bear. This was when I realised that we were missing our friend and ran back inside to get him. I suppose a store filled with fruit drinks & liquors is a good place to spend the night. :)
This was taken outside of the Pearl Resort at the end of our day, before heading back to the airport.

Tahiti Le Meridien

Bear sat around on my new hat waiting for us to wake up so we could all go to the beach.
Bear had a bit too much wine ....Just hanging out on a leaf overlooking the pool ...

Bear was also captivated by the local flowers that smelled so lovely.

Return Flight from Tahiti to Amsterdam

Bear found it especially difficult to leave - being his first vacation & all. Above he is taking one last look at Tahiti or rather, the Papette airport. Bear is sitting in the lounge at LAX airport & is feezer his ass off.

Introducing Bear: Our Travel Mascot

As I mentioned in Bubbles in Europe, Bear is our new travel mascot who will accompany us on our vacations & to various other local places. He joined us for our first vacation to French Polynesia and his explorations will be shared here for all to see. He is a bit camera shy & had some difficulties adjusting to the temperatures - thus explaining the hat and scarf.
